our Easter services April 2nd
Paul groups these gifts like this:
2 Word Gifts - Wisdom and Knowledge
3 Faith Gifts - Faith, Healing and Miracles
4 Prophecy Gifts: Prophecy, Discernment, Tongues and Interpretation
These are Spiritual Gifts that fall among the body. When the Holy Spirit Moves, these Gifts Move in the Body.
These do not vindicate a ministry or a person. They can fall on anyone in the body, male or female, they are subject to the ministry of the Word, and if they are spoken gifts they are to be judged by two or three before given to the body.
Bro. Branham makes a distinction between this “gift of faith” and what he calls a direct gift:
Faith is a gift of itself. You may have a portion of it, but there is a gift of faith.
Just like, some of you people anoint the sick and pray for them and you have a result. That isn’t a gift of healing; that is a portion of faith.
But that isn’t a direct gift of healing; for there’s only one direct gift of healing; there’s only one direct gift of faith; there’s only one direct gift of miracles and so forth. 47-0412 - Faith Is The Substance
Bro. Branham did not operate from a gift of faith that falls in the body, although he had faith his gift was different.
Now, I believe that these ministries that we have today across the world, one different from the other one…
(Television, Oral Roberts)
And I seen Oral praying for a little sick baby from up in Canada, had a bad eye. And I believe the parents was Catholic.
And Brother Roberts in his real way of faith, he slammed his hand down on the little baby and prayed for it, and the little baby was healed.
Now, that’s a real gift of faith that Brother Roberts has. And we know that Brother Jack Coe, he used to have a little anvil laying by the side of his desk.
Somebody come up with the glasses on, he’d take the glasses off and break them up with the hammer, throw them over.
Have crutches, he’d take their crutches first, and chop them up, and throw them away; he burnt every bridge.
They only had one Jack Coe, you know. The world couldn’t stand two at one time. God rest his precious soul; he certainly was a gallant man of faith.
One of the greatest I ever seen in my life was Jack Coe. Well, now…And he’s gone on to glory today. His work was finished and Satan could not have took him till his work was finished.
Now, there are men one different from the other all together. And in the ministry the Lord has given me…Most those men were theologians, great teachers and scholars. Mine is not. Mine’s a more of a prophetic message.
And the way I teach Divine healing is a work at the cross that has been completed for you and if you’ll just only recognize it, you can receive it.
Now, Brother Roberts and those great gallant men…You say, “How do you place their ministry to yours?”
They’re using Scripture, “By laying on of hands.” Now, that’s true; that is a Bible doctrine. How many knows that? “They shall lay hands on the sick; they shall recover.”
But if you’ll just bear with me a moment, I want to show you that wasn’t a Gentile commission. No, sir.
Jairus said, “Come lay Your hands on my daughter, and she’ll be healed.” Jews always was laying on hands; everything is laying on hands. But watch the Gentile; it wasn’t so.
“I’m not worthy that You come under my roof. Just speak the word and my servant will live.”
And He turned around and said, “I never seen faith like that in Israel.”
There it is. We’re supposed to be on a higher level than that was. We’re living on the closer of the world’s end than we were then.
(Higher ceiling)
The Gentile way is to believe the Word. That’s exactly right—to recognize…Look at that Gentile.
(Roman Centurion)
What did he recognize there? That every sin, and every disease, and every thing else was under His authority. “Just say ‘Go’ and it will go.”
See what he did? Now, that’s what I’m trying to get the American people to see. That it doesn’t…You don’t have to wait for a special time, for a certain evangelist to come through and to pray for you.
Your pastor is sufficient. If the pastor isn’t there, your neighbor’s sufficient. If the neighbor isn’t there, your husband or wife is sufficient.
And if there’s none of them there, just raise up your hands; He’s sufficient always. Just wherever you are, believe it; believe it. It’s a finished work. 60-0710 - The Queen Of Sheba
What is faith?
Hebrews 11:1 KJV 1900
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Most people today, .. have hope instead of faith. You find people coming on the platform, they’re just built up in hopes.
“But faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence.” It’s not a myth; it’s not imagination. It’s something you’ve got. You’ve already got it.
And you’re just as happy with it, that faith that you have, as you would be if you had the substance in your hand.
For instance, like this, if I’m starving to death; and a loaf of bread costs a quarter, which will buy the loaf of bread.
Now, when I have the quarter in my hand, I’m just as happy as if it was the loaf of bread, because it’s the purchase price of the bread.
And when I know in my heart that I have accepted it, and I believe that God has give it to me, I’m just as happy with that faith as if I was if I was healed, because I’m going to be healed, anyhow.
I’ve got the substance right now, nobody can take it away from me. I know it’s right, and I can be perseverant with that. 64-0619 - Perseverant
Hebrews 11:2 KJV 1900
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
What is faith based on?
Hebrews 11:3 KJV 1900
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Notice, real faith rests upon the solid rock of the promise of God’s Word. It doesn’t shift. The real faith is anchored.
Like in the north star, the north star is a tie post to every shipmaster, the compass points him only to that north star.
And God, the Word, is every Christian’s north star, if you’re lost, and the Holy Spirit is what points you to It. It won’t point to nothing else.
All other isms, and so forth, and Christianity mixed up in it, whatever it may be; it’s like the world, shifting, it changes those stars, but it can’t change the north star. Neither can anything change the Word of God. Anchor to It, stay with It!
Now, real faith doesn’t shift by creeds and man-made doctrines, and unbelief. It stays right with the Word, real faith in the Word.
And where can you put your faith on anything else but the Word? If God said it, hold your finger to It, That’s true. It doesn’t shift. It draws from God’s breasted-Book, the Bible, His attributes, what He promised.
What He promised, that’s His Word. The Word produces Itself. It has to be a thought ’fore Word, then Word; then the Word is manifested, and that’s where you draw your strength from. Believing! Believing! For the Creator…Believing, like He was, the Creator that made the world. 64-0403 - Jehovah-Jireh #2
Hebrews 11:4 KJV 1900
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Abel did not have a written Word to base his faith on, but because His revelation was true, God honored his faith, and when the Word was written, it proved that what he did by revelation was exactly what needed to be done.
Genesis 4:3 KJV 1900
And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.
They had been taught that there was a God, and they wanted to worship their creator.
They came to the East side of Eden, where the cherubim had been placed with a flaming sword, keeping them from the tree of life.
Their parents had left some things out of the story of how they had fallen.
Now, Cain thought that, making an antidote for sin, that his father and mother must have eat fruit, as they were taught in that garden. But Abel, by Divine revelation, knowed that it was the blood that did it. 65-0221M - Marriage And Divorce
Genesis 4:4 KJV 1900
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Jehovah “looked with favor” on Abel’s offering.
Abel dragged a lamb with a grapevine up to the altar.
What was it? Spiritually minded by election, knowing that the earthly things doesn’t please God, he offered life and blood.
What did it speak of? Some four thousand years from then, the Lamb of God, with a rope around His neck was led away to Calvary.  53-1110 - I Will Restore
Jehovah smiled at Him. The Bible doesn’t say how, but both of them knew Abel’s sacrifice was favored.
How did Cain, when he made an altar just as pretty, or prettier than Abel’s? He offered fruits. He give his tithes. He brought his income into the house of the Lord.
He knelt on the altar. He bowed hisself. He prayed. He worshipped, just as sincere as any man. But God vindicated Abel by consuming his sacrifice.  62-0117 - Presuming
God vindicates the new birth by the fire of the Holy Ghost consuming your mortal body.
Genesis 4:5 KJV 1900
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
Genesis 4:6 KJV 1900
And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
Genesis 4:7 KJV 1900
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Abel had no written Word.
By revelation of the Word, God’s Word before It was even written, “Abel by faith offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than that of Cain, which testified that he was righteous,” the Word reflecting Itself through him, by his offering. 64-1212 - The Harvest Time
Any true gift of faith will line up with the Word.
Abel, by revelation, looked forward to a time when the fiery sword would be quenched by the blood of the lamb.
Revelation 2:7 KJV 1900
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
What a thrilling thought is this. That Tree Of Life in the Garden of Eden Which could not be approached unto because of the fall of Adam is now given to the overcomer.
The flaming sword of the guarding cherubim has been sheathed. But it was not sheathed ere its blade was bloody with the blood of the Lamb. CAB 03 - Ephesian
Hebrews 10:4 KJV 1900
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Both boys had faith enough to come and worship. Both had faith to make a sacrifice. But only Abel had faith in the atoning blood of the lamb that was offered.
Hebrews 12:22 KJV 1900
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Hebrews 12:23 KJV 1900
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
Hebrews 12:24 KJV 1900
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
So then, if the worshipper under the law could not be purged because that the lamb was only a shadow, and he went away with the same desire, yet, it was speaking correctly to the right Lamb coming.
And then when God sent His Lamb, and He died, and the worshipper then coming, putting his hands by faith upon the bleeding locks of the Lord Jesus;
and can in your heart appreciate that He was the only thing that could ever come and redeem you, and you’d be lost and gone to hell;
and then to appreciate His love for you, when you were unlovable; appreciate His foreknowledge of you, that you’d have a heart to do it; and appreciate His leading of the Holy Spirit to bring you to that place to accept It;
and you lay your hands upon Him by faith, and renounce your own life, as a sinner, and accept His Life instead, the Blood of Jesus Christ then cleanses you.
And the Life that was in the Blood Cell of Christ, which was none other than God Himself, the Holy Spirit, comes back into your life, and coincides with your body,
and you act and walk a Christian life, till the day you leave the world. And the devil couldn’t touch you, if he had to. Amen. Every promise in the Book is yours, then. 56-0621 - The Law Having A Shadow
Where do we get the faith? It’s a gift from God.
Ephesians 2:8 KJV 1900
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 KJV 1900
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:10 KJV 1900
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Conclusion.

We’ll deal with the gift of faith again, the Lord willing, because it’s elementary to healing and miracles.
